Bicycles

Do you have your own bike? The website of Brussels Mobility gathers everything you need to know about cycling in Brussels (cycle maps, where to buy cycle gear, …).

Don’t you have your own bike? Here are a number of ways of renting a bike.

  • Villo

Villo? That’s those yellow bikes that seem to be popping up all over the place. There are now 2500 bikes in use, distributed over 180 stations in several Brussels boroughs. There’s one every 450 m. A year’s season ticket for the network costs 30 euro, a day ticket 1.5 euro and a weekly ticket 7 euro. The first half-hour is free, and after that you pay 50 cents per extra half-hour. Villo is most suited to short journeys. www.villo.be

  • Point vélo - Bike point

Do you want to go on a long bike ride? If so, it’s best to go to a ‘point vélo’. They are near Brussels’ railway stations. The NoORD and LUXEMBoURG ‘points vélo’ mainly have folding bikes to rent; the CENTRaAL ‘point vélo’ has mainly comfortable city-bikes (with 7 gears). If you are in a group that wants to rent bikes, it’s best to get in touch first to book the bikes. You can rent a bike for 1 day (9 euro) or 2 or 3 days (18 euro) or up to a year (360 euro, including maintenance). Check the prices and opening times on the website. www.recyclo.org

  • Pro Vélo

You can rent bikes from Pro Vélo too. You can choose between city-bikes, tandems and children’s bikes. The 'Maison des Cyclistes de Bruxelles' in Ixelles is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm. On Sundays you can also pick up a bike at the Bois de la Cambre and the Parc de Woluwé. Prices range from 7 euro (2 hours) or 15 euro (a day) to 35 euro (3 days). Pro Vélo also offers guided bike trips in several languages. Have a look at the calendar on the website. www.provelo.org
