Are you a European staff-member who has recently moved to Brussels? If so, Discover Brussels is definitely something for you! It comprises an extensive and high-quality introduction to your new home and place of work. Discover Brussels provides you with all the background information you need to help you understand this complex city and to find your way around more easily. Learn about its history and gain an insight into its good and less attractive sides during a lunchtime session at the European Administrative School ( Content Brussels is a name that covers a lot: Brussels is a Region, a city, 19 boroughs, an important social and economic zone, the multilingual capital of Europe, a prosperous region with a high level of unemployment, home to as many as 170 nationalities, an institutional jumble, a cultural melting pot and so much more. The lunchtime session includes an historical overview of Brussels’ development, a close look at Brussels today, and also a look into the future. The lessons will be given by renowned professors from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and l’Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB).
